The Magic Numbers are returning for 2013 with an acoustic tour that tonight lands at Manchester’s very own Royal Northern College of Music. This latest acoustic tour sees the band performing in some of the most intimate and beautiful venues across the country and we’re thrilled that they have chosen the RCNM for tonight’s show. Tickets are still available so why not head down tonight, it’s a show you won’t want to miss.

You could be forgiven for mistaking their name for the sweet treat Fruitella’s but you cannot be forgiven if you haven’t danced until you’re numb to The Fratellis’ chart topper Chelsea Dagger. After dropping off the radar for a five-year hiatus they are back with an acclaimed third album. The new release We Need Medicine is sure not to disappoint with its bold, infectious beats, another high-powered Indie anthem is in the pipeline for the Glaswegian trio.
In order to promote the new album, the band are back in Manchester tonight for what is sure to be a fantastic show at The Academy. Why not treat yourself to a midweek pick-me-up and dance the night away?

Having seen them perform an incredibly energetic and engaging set at Glastonbury a couple of years ago, we can safely say that this is something you don’t want to miss. Check out the video below if you’re unfamiliar with the band (or if you just fancy a dance at work…) and get ready for a fantastic evening.

Why not enjoy a little culture this weekend at the Manchester Craft & Design Centre? Opening tomorrow and running until March 1st 2014, The Gifts of the Departed is a new-to-Manchester exhibition by UK based interdisciplinary artist Alinah Azadeh which focuses on themes of separation, loss and longing.
By using pieces belonging to her dead mother, the artist has injected an incredible amount of emotion into the collection, creating a beautiful and thought-provoking tribute to heartache.
The exhibition launch takes place tomorrow between 1-5pm and includes a talk from the artist at 3pm, a drinks reception, and music from the Manchester String Quartet. We’ll be there and can’t wait to see the collection in full and enjoy everything else that the Craft & Design Centre has to offer including a drink in the gorgeous Oak Street Cafe Bar. Awarded “Best Independent Tourism Retailer” at the Manchester Tourism Awards earlier this month, the Craft & Design Centre is a destination in itself and exploring it is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Avoid the Northern Quarters notoriously complicated one way system and extortionate parking by arriving in style in a Mantax cab. Pre-book using our iPhone & Android app and enter code PROMO5 to get £5 off your first journey.
One of comedy’s brightest stars returns to Manchester this evening for 2 dates as part of his “Back in the Game” tour. A real “East-End boy done good” who worked as a painter & decorator as well as a teacher before he made it big in the comedy world with a stand out performance at the Royal Variety show, Flanagan’s observations on daily life will leave you unsure whether to nod your head in agreement or simply double over with laughter.
One word of warning though, this show probably isn’t for kids. Or for watching with your grandparents as i learned the hard way with his DVD a couple of Christmas’s ago… much cringing ensued.
Getting a cab home from the Phones4U Arena can be a bit of a pain when big shows let out so why not beat the rush by pre-booking a Mantax cab on 0161 230 333? Have fun!
